MSc Business with Financial Management
I chose Northumbria… because of the great reputation of Northumbria’s business school. Business is the sector that I wish to have my career in, so I felt it was best to study at a university that had excelled in that area. The use of practical work in class time has really encouraged me. It means that I will have practical experience as well as the theoretical background knowledge. The recruitment advisors were very kind and friendly when I emailed them before applying. They made me feel welcome and wanted, which enticed me to apply.
I really like the university because… the lecturers make me feel very comfortable. They are extremely experienced and knowledgeable and this really helps my learning. All of the staff at the university are very easy to contact; they’re supportive and understanding, even of personal issues.
The modules are very interesting and enjoyable… they are well structured and helpful. When I’m in class I feel like I am in a real-life situation, rather than in a classroom learning, and I think this helps us all to learn better.
The thing I like about London most… is how everyone is always in a hurry. Since studying here, I live by the motto ‘another day, another opportunity’ and this really motivates me to be successful.
Northumbria University has helped me to overcome my stage fright… and develop my confidence to talk in front of a group of people; in classrooms and to people that I do not know. I feel more comfortable talking in class and meeting new people. The lecturers have taught me to have an open minded approach, this has made me feel willing to attempt anything. They tell us to ‘behave like managers’ and see ourselves at the top and to always have a positive attitude.
