Jim O’Brien is the Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Business Enterprise, Creation and Management (Top-Up). He has extensive industry and academic experience. Jim has worked abroad for a number of years as an External Consultant for UNDP, specialising in Middle Eastern Affairs. He has been CEO of a private group of companies and was Director of Employability and Commercial Provision at the largest Further Education college in Southern England. Jim has also been an Associate with a range of Universities.
Jim’s research specialisms include Leadership and Management, International Business, International Human Resource Management, Marketing, Sustainability and CSR as well as Research Methods. He is research active and interested in International Development and national, regional and global sustainability, specifically focused on how sustainability can be achieved with positive indirect economic inputs from policy makers.
Jim has been an executive member of the Institute of Value Management, Associate of the CIPS and a member of CIPD.
