Our part-time MSc Web & Mobile Development Technologies programme is now available as a full-time option from September 2021, in addition to the existing part-time route.

Whilst the duration of the programme has changed, module content remains the same. This hands-on programme, designed in consultation with partners from industry, gives students a good understanding of current trends and equips them with skills required for success within the web and mobile design field.

Entire industries, starting from retail, transport, hospitality or banking, to name only a few, rely heavily on software innovation and app development. Food can be easily ordered via an app, paper train tickets become a thing of a past thanks to mobile app tickets, and bank transfers are only a tap away. This seems to be only an upward trend – one study says people spend more time online with their mobile than with any other device and 90% of this time people use mobile applications.

Our programme gives students a good understanding of this booming industry and equips them with life-long skills and in-depth knowledge of contemporary web development. They are going to learn principles around modern web design using HTML/CSS, JavaScript, PHP & SQL, with emphasis on creating responsive web applications without the need for plugin technology.

Cloud Computing is also becoming an important part of mobile and web development field, with frequent use of commercial cloud provider technologies. Our students will have an opportunity to put their knowledge into practice whilst using software such as Amazon (AWS), Microsoft (Azure), Google.

Successful completion of the programme opens up doors into careers in roles such as Software Engineer, Cloud Architect, Usability Tester or User Experience Designer and Developer.
