“My name is Howard Carmen, I’m 26 years old, I’m from Colombia and I’m doing a Masters in Business with Financial Management.
I was looking for a Masters and I found an institution in Colombia and from that institution I found Northumbria University.
I wanted to improve my skills in management for leadership and to also improve my English, also get a whole view of the world and I know that in London it’s easier to find other cultures, other people, so this was really nice. Everybody will enjoy it.
I wanted to study in London, I liked that Northumbria University has one base in Newcastle and the other base here in London, and it’s one of the top universities in the UK.
The University has one big module which is Strategic Management, it is very good for people who are looking for leadership and want to find a different set of skills. It revolves around the companies, the skills that the people have. Also, we have another different module that is soft skills and hard skills, so it’s very complete. I think with this background that the University gives us, it is very complete to be a big manager in the future.
The most important thing I think is the teachers who are making the classes, who are teaching the people they have to really know what they are doing. I feel like they are experts in these areas.
Everything is beautiful, it doesn’t matter about the weather, it doesn’t matter how you feel, every day has different kinds of things and you enjoy.
Also it’s beautiful to learn, to come here to learn, to practice different topics and start a new life because you’ve opened your mind, you feel that the world is not just where you have been living, it’s huge. It’s a huge world, and you can find people from all around the world in London. It’s a multicultural experience.”
