Entrepreneurship and innovation are at the core of the 4th industrial revolution, and now with the UK ranked 4th in the Global Innovation Index 2021, continuous innovation – both incremental and radical – is increasingly seen as essential to maintain competitive advantage and a prosperous economy.
As such studying these closely related subjects will give you a real insight into the way they are becoming increasingly critical to business and enterprise success. You will also be much better positioned to develop your own innovative ventures, either independently or in an existing organisation.

What will I study?
If you join us at Level 5 of your study, the programme will provide learning opportunities via an innovation-based consultancy project which will enable you to apply and validate your learning and skills in real world settings whilst also developing the skills of design led innovation, project management and analytics.
If you join us at level 6, you will be able to undertake an applied research project focused on enterprise and innovation to enable you to apply and validate your learning and skills further in real world contexts. You will develop crucial skills in design thinking and innovation whilst also understanding the importance of building an innovative culture through an organisation.
You will also learn how to implement strategy and sources of funding for entrepreneurial. You will also spend a significant amount of time developing your own personal competence as a learner, leader and entrepreneur.

For Level 5 and Level 6 entry you must provide evidence of a Level 2 Maths or equivalent. Exemptions are granted if you can evidence previous study in finance, accounting, statistics, data analysis or research modules at previous levels of study.
Non-standard route: Please note that applicants without formal qualifications yet with appropriate work experience are also encouraged to apply. Non-standard qualifications/work experience will need to be considered on an individual basis.

Students holding a Level 4 qualification in a business and management-related field, can directly join the programme on the Year Two (Level 5).
Learn how to effectively manage yourself and your studies, how to find appropriate information and use this in your academic writing, develop your academic voice across different communication styles, as well as developing your critical and ethical skills in your studies.
Learn how to develop a research question, and linked to this, be able to choose an appropriate method of research, combining both learning experiences to the development of a critical assessment of the academic literature.
Develop the knowledge and skills in change management essential for management and leadership careers success.
Develop your understanding of entrepreneurial cultures and the personal and professional attributes needed to operate successfully in a business environment.
Using a real world organisational issue, understand the context of consultancy project and how to lead a change in the complex business environment.
This module encompasses a multidisciplinary approach as it looks at innovation as an integrated approach to dealing with organisational change.
Students with HND merit standard or Foundation Degree in a related field can join the programme directly on Level 6 and top-up their qualification to an honours degree in one year.

Continuing students
You will study one of three optional modules plus common modules.
One of the most important stages in the development of an SME is to understand the nature of entrepreneurship, the need for creativity and the ability to analyse your market and plan effectively.
Direct entry students
Students directly joining on Level 6 will study the below modules plus common modules listed below.
This module will equip you with leadership knowledge and skills to maximise your future employability and career development.
Common modules (all students)
Develop and cultivate a creative mind-set through design thinking and innovative practice, bringing together knowledge and creativity to construct a viable computer solution, service or a product.
Draw on your range of knowledge and skills developed during your studies and/or work experience to review research literature and evaluate business and management responses to a contemporary issue.
Operations and finance management ensure competitive advantage for enterprises through integrated risk management approach using innovations, which transform labour, capital, materials, or information into products and services of greater value for customers.
Combine theory and practice to develop an in-depth understanding about core leadership and management principles and apply these concepts to a range of scenarios.
Extend your knowledge of SME and Business practice, particularly in the area of strategic thinking, and employ your intellectual and practical skills in an SME context.
All modules on this course are core and 20 credits unless otherwise stated.

Please note that your tuition fees do not include the cost of course books that you may choose to purchase, stationery, printing and photocopying, accommodation, living expenses, travel or any other extracurricular activities. As a Northumbria University London Campus student, you will have full access to our online digital library with over 400,000 e-books and 50,000 electronic journals.
The modules you will study do not require you to purchase additional textbooks although we recommend you allow an additional £250 for the duration of your studies should you choose to purchase any additional reading materials.

London Cost of Living Bursary
Eligible international students will receive an automatic bursary for £1,334, covering one month’s living costs in London*, applied at the Conditional Offer as a fee discount. This bursary is effective for intakes in January 2025 and May 2025. This offer excludes Pre-sessional English, standalone Graduate Certificate programmes and sponsored applicants.
If you receive this bursary, you may still be eligible for additional bursaries and scholarships, these will be confirmed at the Unconditional Offer stage. Full maintenance costs still need to be evidenced when applying for your visa.

We strongly recommend that you submit your application as early as possible to allow you to complete all of the preparations needed to study in the UK. After receiving an offer it can take time to arrange your finances and apply for your visa and it is important that you arrive in good time to enrol on your course. You can apply online to study the BSc (Hons) Global Business Management (Logistics and Supply Chain). This method allows you to upload your supporting documents at the time of application and automatically receive your student application number.
