MSc Cyber Security

“My name is Sirajo Gidado, I’m from Northern Nigeria and I work in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
I am with Northumbria studying Cyber Security, and actually got a scholarship from the Petroleum Trust Fund Development to study.
The modules that they teach in the University such as Information Governance, which is also part of Information Security, and Ethical Hacking, which is mostly intelligence affecting Nigerian systems and everything which is going to definitely make a big impact on my career.
It was great because the people I met were really nice, from the help desk and everything. People were actually ready to help and try and give you advice, how you go about living in London, how to go about your studies, meeting the right people, timetabling and everything.
Compared to how I actually did my degree in Nigeria, it’s much easier doing the registrations and starting my course and everything.
It’s a really fantastic feeling to be acknowledged for what you’re doing here.
The teaching has taken us to the limit where we put some hope in getting to the extent but actually exceeding that extent.
We are actually a small group, we understand each other, the lecturers are more like part of the class also because we move along together, and they help us in every way.
I can just send an email and instantly I get a reply on whatever issue I’m facing.
I’m living the life, it was really fantastic.”
