Dr Elizabeth Achinewhu-Nworgu is a UK based Business and Law Lecturer in higher and further education and worked for Local Authorities and National Health Service in the UK for over 30 years. She was also a TV presenter and a Business owner. She was an international consultant, involved in a wide range of training and development initiatives. Elizabeth is the author of Determined to Succeed, in which she shares her inspiring journey from her childhood in the aftermath of the war in Nigeria to establishing a successful family life, education and career in the UK. She has studied, taught and researched extensively in further and higher education in the UK, with a Doctorate Degree in Education that explored ‘Strategies promoting Student Retention. In addition to her Doctorate degree, she has Master of Laws (LLM), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Postgraduate Certificate in Education and Training (PGCE) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) degrees obtained in UK universities.
She is also an active researcher on student retention and achievement; a Panel Chair on Bulgarian Comparative Education Societies for Law and Education, an international Co-ordinator for Europe – ISCEST conference Africa. She has published and presented several papers and articles at national and international conferences in regards to issues relating to ‘Best Practice in education, Employment and Criminal Law, Human Resource Management and dedicated student retention and achievement.
Dr Elizabeth is engaged in a postdoctoral project at Centro University de la Costa in Mexico, analysing the educational painting of Professor Claudio Rafael Vasquez Martinez in Mathematics and Physics Education Project, with reference to special education need’s children and the relationship to their talent and creativity in the world of arts and painting. In 2015, also appointed as a Visiting Professor at Institute of Education and Science in Baylesa State, Niger Delta region of Nigeria to support the university research and development activities.  She is employed as a Senior Lecturer and Module Leader for MSc International Human Resource Management, teaching across QAHE Business programmes for Northumbria, Roehampton and Ulster Universities.
She is flexible in teaching commitment in higher education undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in Business, HRM, Law and supervision of postgraduate and undergraduate degree thesis, dissertation and internship projects. Dr Elizabeth has had several awards for good practice in education and for her commitment in ‘Making Education Count for all, particularly for the international students studying in UK.
