Dr Saber Farag

Dr. Saber Farag is a distinguished academic, practitioner, and researcher in the field of Computing and Engineering, with over 10 years of experience in higher education. He currently serves as the Program Leader for the MSc Computing Frameworks (PT) at Northumbria University’s London campus, a position he has held since mid-2023. In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. Saber leads a consultancy group that delivers real-life projects coordinated by Northumbria University, providing students with valuable industry experience while solving complex problems for external partners. He is also a module leader of key modules, including Programming for AI, Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence for IoT, ensuring a high standard of academic rigour and industry relevance.

Before joining Northumbria University, Dr. Saber held a position as a Fixed-Term Lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire. He has also served as a Visiting Lecturer, guiding and mentoring students across various levels, from MSc to BSc programs and apprenticeship schemes. His commitment to academic excellence and student development has earned him recognition, including the prestigious Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Prize for outstanding achievement.

Dr. Saber’s contributions to the field extend beyond the classroom, with a strong portfolio of publications in reputable conferences and journals. He actively engages in the academic community as an external reviewer for international conferences, further contributing to the advancement of knowledge in his discipline.

With a passion for continuous learning and innovation, Dr. Saber is dedicated to leveraging his expertise to drive impactful initiatives and inspire the next generation of professionals in Computer Science and Engineering.

Beyond academia, Dr. Saber is well-versed in a diverse array of programming languages and software tools and is equipped with the skills necessary to tackle complex challenges in the ever-evolving technological landscape.
He has actively participated in training courses and workshops aimed at enhancing his pedagogical skills and preparing for future professional milestones.

Dr. Saber is a seasoned academic and professional in the field of computer science, specialising in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. He currently serves as the Program Leader at Northumbria University London, where he is responsible for leading the program and leading key modules such as AI Programming, IoT for AI, and Cloud Machine Learning.

His extensive experience includes supervising over 400+ master’s degree students and 50+ undergraduate students and coordinating/leading multiple computing modules and programmes.
