Fin Garvey is a qualified and chartered architect (B. Arch, MRIAI) with extensive experience in practice. A former partner in an architectural firm and a qualified project manager (Masters degree in Project Management, 1998; PMP, 2001), he has been a management consultant for sixteen years, a specialist in public procurement (LLM, Public Procurement Law and Policy, 2011), a published author (An Architect’s guide to Public Procurement, 2015), and an experienced lecturer.
He is an outspoken advocate for best practice in project, programme and portfolio processes and public procurement reform and has led the management process from the perspective of owner, sponsor, consultant and implementer. His experience ranges across large-scale engineering, building construction and conservation, software systems, R&D, new product development as well as social and environmental projects. He also maintains an active involvement in research. Over the past 26 years he has worked with Micro, SMEs and large complex public sector organisations with varying job descriptions and responsibilities.
He also currently chairs the Construction Forum for PMI (Project Management Institute) UK.
