We strongly recommend that you submit your application as early as possible to allow you to complete all the preparations needed to study your chosen programme. After receiving an offer it can take time to arrange your finances and apply for your visa (if applicable) and it is important that you arrive in good time to enrol on your course.

Please note, if you are making a visa application from the 2nd of January 2025, the finance maintenance requirement for London applicants is £1483 and £1136 outside of London.

Please note that your tuition fees do not include the cost of course books that you may choose to purchase, stationery, printing and photocopying, accommodation, living expenses, travel or any other extracurricular activities. As a Northumbria University London Campus student, you will have full access to our online digital library with over 400,000 e-books and 50,000 electronic journals.

These dates apply to most taught students however there are variations to this calendar and all students should check specific programme dates with their Programme Leader as dates for some provisions will vary.

For UK students looking to study our undergraduate programmes, you will be able to fund your studies through Student Finance England. For more information visit the Student Finance England website.

After your application has been processed by Student Finance England, they will send you a Student Finance Entitlement letter with your customer reference number (CRN), which you should quote whenever you contact them.

Student Finance England will pay your tuition fees direct to the university.

If you are a UK student, you may be eligible for a postgraduate loan of up to £10,000+ from the UK Government. Click here to find out more about the loan and whether you are eligible to receive it.

In addition to your tuition fees, you should also allow enough funds to cover your living expenses for the duration of your studies. The actual amount that you will need depends on your lifestyle, but the UKVI recommend that the minimum amount required by a single student to cover basic living expenses (e.g. accommodation, heating, food) is approximately £1,334 in London.

We understand that it’s important to budget whilst you’re studying in London with us. To help you understand what kind of costs you can expect, take a look at the average living costs in London:

If you would like to spread the cost of your tuition, we offer an instalment plan for our self-funded part-time students. Please note that this instalment plan is not available to Postgraduate Loan students.

Step 1: Pay a £2,450 deposit on or before enrolment

Step 2: Pay 6 x monthly direct debits of equal payments

Self-funded UK part-time students will be able to apply for a Postgraduate Loan up to the value of £10,000+.
